I recently purchased 2 sigfox devices from cooking hacks for use here in the Netherlands. Registration and set up with an arduino went fine. I can see the data arriving in the backend.sigfox.com interface.

My question is about the relationship of devices, device types, users and groups.

As I am new to sigfox but know LoRaWAN I am assuming that the notion of a Sigfox Device Type equates to a LoRaWAN Applicaiton. I.e. A device would always be bound to a given device type. Is it possible for multiple devices to below to the same device type? If so, my assumption is that their byte payload would be identical.

How about sigfox groups? They seem to include both device types and users.

If the above is true, I would like to consolidate my two devices to a single device type. Is that possible? It is not at all obvious in the backend.sigfox.com menus.

Any pointers or help is appreciated.

We can help you with our hardware and software but if you have questions about the Sigfox Backend, it will be better if you ask directly to them. We haven't got enough knowledges to ask your questions about their backend.
