Post subject: | Ph and EC reading problems |
Hi everyone, I have a problem with reading Ph and EC. I state that I mounted opengarden with hydroponic shield on Arduino Mega, if I read the Ph with a 12V power supply and connected USB to the PC the reading is stable, as soon as I unplug the PC the readings become unstable. Someone who can help me? |

It's a weird issue, please let us know more detailed information about the connections, did you test with another cable or computer? How do you see the data when the USB is unpluged? Regards |

I read the sensor data via LCD |

The connections of the shield are STD, and the only thing I have changed are the pins concerning the i2c for brightness and for RTC, now they are working. On the mega instead I command the display with multiple wires connection. Furthermore, if I control a peristaltic pump on one of the irrigation outlets, the values of Ph and EC become unstable again |

Hi, could you please share with us some images of the board and the connections. It's a weird issue, normally it should be in the other way when the USB is connected it could introduce noise and affect the sensors but not like is happening to you. Which 12v power supply are you using? Maybe this is the thing that introduces the noise, did you test to use another one? Regards |

Using the power supply supplied with the kit opengarden hydroponic 12V 2A, I also tried the original Arduino power supply but it doesn't change anything. As for the connections I have two inputs, a button and a switch with the usual pull-up on inputs 22 and 24 and on pins 23-25-27-29-31-33 command lcd. I have not been informed if the other pins are changed from One to Mega beyond the I2C pins |

Hi Belloz, We're sorry but we don't know what could be the cause of the issue, we didn't test the board in Arduino Mega but it should work, please check the connections are clean and also please test to connect the power supply to another power supply socket. Regards |
