When using the Receive sms example, many times the SMS body serial readout will be blank even when sending it a word or sentence. Other times only the first letter will be displayed.

Why is this?

Hi,

We don't know about that issue, please let us know more about your assembly and code used and we will try to help you.

Code:
if (strcmp(_4G._buffer, "Valve2 close") == 0)
    {
      digitalWrite(relay2, HIGH);
         int phone_number = _4G._smsNumber;

      error =_4G.sendSMS(phone_number, "VALVE 2 CLOSING");
    }

In the serial monitor the body is blank, and the device then runs code for an "Unrecognized command" so I know its not just the serial monitor, its the actual device not receiving that sms content message.
As mentioned even the example code would sometimes do this. With this code i can reproduce it many many times.

Hi,

Could you please post the output for the example code to receive SMS?

Are you using Arduino UNO, Mega or Raspberry?

Regards

Attached is a screenshot of the serial output. The device also isnt receiving it in the background, it isnt a serial print issue because i have code that executes in the event of an unrecognized command. It is taking the blank body as an unrecognized command.

Arduino Mega

Here is the example code that ships with the device...the hardware or software is faulty.

Hi,

Do you have the same issue using an Arduino UNO?

Please take a look into the SMS section of the tutorial (3.7) and test using the readSMS() function.

Regards
