Hi folks,

I just got the pack radiation sensor board for Arduino + the Geiger Tube. But since this Geiger tube just catches beta and gamma radiation, I just decided to change the tube for one that catches alpha, beta and gamma rays. But now the new tube is not working right, sometimes it reads some times not. I just hear that you need to change a part in the board for new tube. Do you know which part should I replace??

PD. The tube is a similar to an LND 712 (and 500 v average)

Thnks

Dear all,
Hi Masco,

I paste here the info:

The radiation board is configured for the J305β Tube, that works with 370V

We've updated the tutorial with the tube information => http://www.cooking-hacks.com/index.php/ ... nsor-board

If you need to modify the voltage, you can change this capacitor
Image

1 uF => 370V
2.2 uF => 400V
10 uF => 500V

Take care with the polarity of the capacitor!!!

(we delete your other post)

Regards

And my capacitor does not look like the one in that picture. Mine is black and has the numbers:

1-50L
B3 2

or

1-S0L
83 2

Can you tell me the value of that capacitor?

Hi atomic_dave,

Don't worry about the color, your capacitor is 1 uF.

Yes, it's 10 uF, so it shuld work.

Good Evening,

i don't have an SMD capacitor to replace, but I have a normal 10 uF electrolitic cylindric capacitor, it's the same?
How i can understand polarity ?

Thanks
