I am building a mobile device. Will the 4G + GPS Shield for Arduino – LE910 - (4G / 3G / GPRS / GSM allow me to connect to any network that is detected and still perform the commands in the code? or I need to create different commands for each network in the code? Appreciate the feedback.

Thanks, I came here to ask pretty much the same question! I don't speak Spanish but more or less understanding it, if I got things right, the item connects itself automatically to the closest network source, and this can be overridden by the command AT+WS46?

Hi,

Yes, the module connects aotumatically to the closest network source if it's properly configured. We don't know waht happen if you change the value with AT+WS46 command when it's already connected.

... actually, I've got a stupid question. If I were to attempt a similar build, will the device work everywhere without modifications, or should I buy a local SIM card to use the local 3g/4g/GPRS/GSM network? Because I often have to work abroad, in countries I don't know very well (for example, in September, I'll have to check out several of these houses in France for insurance estimations, and this means spending 2 months in a foreign country). In this case, should I buy a French sim card?

Sorry for the questions, I'm learning and always feel like I'm going too fast and that I'm attempting stuff I don't have enough knowledge for...

Hi,

You should contact your SIM provider to know if it can work in different countries and the roaming options.

Also, you should check the different bands available in each module version. You can check this in the 4g technical guide in page 6,
