This is a simple to use, RS232 to serial base unit for the XBee line. This unit works with all XBee modules including the Series 1 and Series 2.5, standard and Pro version. Plug the unit into the XBee Explorer, attach a RS232 cable, and you will have direct access to the serial and programming pins on the XBee unit. The board also supports DTR communication so you can reprogram and configure the XBee unit.

This serial modem brought to you by Switch Science allows you to interface an Arduino board with your iPhone or Android smartphone through the audio jack. Now you can integrate your smartphone into your next embedded project. Some software is required on the phone side, and of course there is an Arduino library.

Because the modem and supporting software exploits a connection originally intended for audio, some corruption of the serial data is to be expected from time to time. It's recommended that you keep this in mind when writing your code. See the links below for more information on the board, the Arduino library, and how to implement it.

Note: A standard 3.5mm stereo headphone cable will not work correctly with this board. You must use the special 4-pole cable such as you would find on a wired headset. The audio jack shown does come with the board, but is not soldered to the board.

With the iPhone/iPad/iPod to Arduino ZigBee/802.15.4 kit you'll be able to connect your iPhone/iPad/iPod to XBee module and communicate wirelessly with Arduino (using the XBee shield). This is a simple adapter which allows you to charge your iPad, iPhone, or iPod from a mini USB cable. It's as simple as that! It works with 3rd gen iPods, iPhone 3Gs, and pretty much any Apple product which has an 'i' in front of the name that uses this connector. But keep in mind, this is JUST A CHARGER and will NOT allow you to access data from your computer or make a USB data connection.  It's just a charger. What you see is what you get. This is a simple USB serial interface to mate with the Nike+iPhone/iPad/iPod product. Use this breakout board to send and receive serial commands to the receiver and listen for individual foot pods. This will allow easy creation of proximity based projects and running/workout research. VCC (3.3V), ground, and iPhone/iPad/iPod TX and RX are brought out to a standard header so that you can connect this board to a microcontroller.

We provide a simple example VB program that demonstrates how to initialize the receiver to listen for all foot pods in range and display the raw data including foot pod IDs. Any receiver can hear any foot pod - they don't have to be mated in any way.

It turns out the foot pod will activate with minimal movement. We really want to attach these to our cats and make an ID controlled cat-door-lock system. 'Are you Carlos? No? You can't come in.'
