The SIS-2 monitors an IR receiver, and when a certain remote code is detected, an output pin will toggle. Two outputs are available and any code on any remote can be taught to the SIS-2. This makes it simple to implement an infrared (IR) remote controllable switching solution for a wide variety of applications. When used with an inexpensive IR receiver module, the SIS-2 recognizes IR signals from 2 independent IR remote control sources, and provides 2 modes of switching for your application.

The IR sources can be from the same or multiple remotes. Works with over 99% of IR remotes, both universal and dedicated types. IR code is easily “taught“ by user with a few simple button presses on the IR remote. IR code is stored in non-volatile, re-programmable memory. Applications include switching and on/off control of two sources, volume control, digital pots, and servos.

These 33mm (1.3") spring loaded pogo pins are great for programming and applications where you don't always want headers soldered onto your boards. We use them for our programming jigs in production. The pins fit snugly into most standard perf board holes. Solder them just like you would normal wire.

The DS1077 is a dual-output, programmable, oscillator requiring no external components for operation. The DS1077 can be used as a processor-controlled frequency synthesizer or as a standalone oscillator. The two synchronous output operating frequencies are user-adjustable in submultiples of the master frequency through the use of two on-chip programmable prescalers and a divider. The specific output frequencies chosen are stored in non-volatile (EEPROM) memory. The DS1077 defaults to these values upon power-up.

The DS1077 features a 2-wire serial interface that allows in-circuit on-the-fly programming of the programmable prescalers (P0 & P1) and divider (N) with the desired values being stored in NV (EEPROM) memory. Design changes can be accommodated in-circuit on-the-fly by simply programming different values into the device (or reprogramming previously programmed devices). Alternatively, for fixed frequency applications, previously programmed devices can be used and no connection to the serial interface is required.

This is a 1A Adjustable SOT-223 voltage regulator capable of outputting 1.2V to 18V. The LM1117 uses the same pin-out and setup as the popular LM317 adjustable regulator, contained in a handy surface mount package. Requires two external resistors to function.

The USB3318 is a high-speed USB 2.0 transceiver (PHY) that supports system architectures based on a 13MHz reference clock. The USB3318 is an extremely flexible chip which allows the USB connector to act as a single port of connection for high speed data transfer, battery charging and stereo/mono audio accessories.

The USB3318 uses the industry standard UTMI+ Low Pin Interface (ULPI) to connect the USB PHY to the Link. The ULPI interface uses a method of in-band signaling and status byte transfers between the Link and PHY, to facilitate a USB session. By using in-band signaling and status byte transfers the ULPI interface requires only 12 pins.

The chip includes an integrated 3.3V LDO regulator to generate its own supply from power applied at the VBAT pin. Voltage on the VBAT pin can range from 3.1 to 5.5V.

Use this simple IR receiver for infrared remote control of your next project. With low power consumption and an easy to use package, it mates well with embedded electronics and can be used with common IR remotes.

The TSOP382 is a miniaturized receiver for infrared remote control systems. A PIN diode and a preamplifier are assembled on a lead frame while the epoxy package acts as an IR filter. The demodulated output signal can be directly decoded by a microprocessor. The TSOP382 is compatible with all common IR remote control data formats.

This is a handy little device that can save your system from smoking. A resettable fuse (also known as a PTC) is a resistor that has very unique properties.

For this model, if your circuit tries to draw more than 250mA of current (if you have a bad short for instance) the PTC would 'trip' (by heating up). The increased resistance (trip state) would break the circuit and allow only a small leakage current.

The leakage current may still be enough to hurt some electronics but it's much less than the 3A that the short may have allowed. Removing the short, the PTC 'resets' and allows current up to 250mA to flow again. It's a resettable fuse that protects your system! Good for use on battery powered devices that need to protect again high-current accidental discharges.

The thermal pictures to the right do a great job of showing what happens when the PTC is tripped. The first thermal picture shows a voltage regulating circuit in its normal state. In the second picture the circuit is shorted, notice how hot the PTC gets (213 °F!) as it limits the amount of damaging current going through the circuit. MP3 decoding is now even easier! This is the popular VS1011 single-chip MP3 audio decoder from VLSI is an easy to solder SOIC package! It contains a high-performance, low-power DSP processor core VS DSP4, working data memory, 5.5kBytes of program or data RAM for for user applications, serial control and input data interfaces, and a high-quality oversampling variable-sample-rate stereo DAC.

VS1011 receives its input bitstream through a serial input bus. The input stream is decoded and passed to an 18-bit oversampling, multi-bit, sigma-delta DAC and earphone driver. Standard 'Watch' or Real-Time-Clock crystal. 32.768kHz means it is precisely half of a 16-bit counter. Start counting at 0x8000 (or 32768). When the counter rolls over from 65535 to 0, then you know that exactly one second has passed. Reset the interrupt, reset the counter, and start counting again! Rated at 12.5pF load capacitance, 35K ohm max (18K ohm typical) series resistance, and +/- 20ppm stability. Small cylinder package.

A metal caster used for omni-directional robots.

Omni-what? Imagine a robot with the dual-motor gear box. The robot can pivot in one spot, but it must also allow the other wheels on the drive train to move or slide during a turn. This caster allows the robot to rotate and pivot in all directions - omni-directional - without the need for complex steering mechanisms.

In order to test the Beta and Gamma radiation with the Radiation Sensor Board for Arduino we can use small pieces of Vaseline Glass. This material contains a very small amount of uranium (0.2%) usually in oxide diuranate form. This material has fluorescent properties when charged with ultraviolet light.

These body electrodes were originally manufactured for use in electric therapy. While we can't condone the use of these in medical therapy, they can be useful for hobby applications. Each electrode is essentially just a conductive pad coated with adhesive gel and terminated on the opposite side with a snap connector. These electrodes are sold in pairs along with an electrode lead with a snap connector for each at one end and a 2.5mm jack at the other.

Although we have no information available regarding the voltage and current tolerance of these electrodes, it's probably safe to say that they will handle much more power than you would ever want to conduct through soft tissue!

The adhesive is a gel similar to what you might find on Pasties or those sticky hand toys you (try to) win at arcades and carnivals. After a few applications, the gel collects contaminants and becomes less adhesive, rinsing them with water will help it regain its adhesive properties.

This plastic knob accepts a 6mm shaft and has a 15mm outer diameter. They simple press-fit onto a shaft. These are clear so that they can be used with our illuminated rotary encoders.

This is a 12-step rotary encoder with a nice 'clicking' feel. It's breadboard friendly, and has a pretty handy select switch (by pushing in on the knob). The encoder is different from a potentiometer in that an encoder has full rotation without limits. The unit outputs gray code so that you can tell how much and in which direction the encoder has been turned.

This unit does not come with a knob, but a working knob is related below.

This is the knob that connects to the linear slide potentiometer.  Knob has a nice friction fit onto slide.

At sometime or another you may run out of pins on your Arduino board and need to extend it with shift registers.  With this shift out module which is based on 74HC595. The datasheet refers to the 74HC595 as an "8-bit serial-in, serial or parallel-out shift register with output latches; 3-state." In other words, you can use it to control 8 outputs at a time while only taking up a few pins on your microcontroller. You can link multiple registers together to extend your output even more. It can also be applies to 51, AVR, PIC and other microcontroller.

It is ideal to work together with Interface shield.
