These are high quality Single Pole - Double Throw (SPDT) sealed relays. Use them to switch high voltage, and/or high current devices.

This relay's coil is rated up to 12V, with a minimum switching voltage of 5V. The contacts are rated up to 5A (@250VAC, 30VDC).

The DFRobot Single Relay blocks the number of electronic modules. It can be used in interactive projects.  It can also be used to control the lighting, electrical and other equipments. The modular design makes it easy to expand with the Arduino board (not included). The Relay output state by a light-emitting diode. It can be controlled through the digital IO port, such as solenoid valves, lamps, motors and other high current or high voltage devices. It includes the digital cable.

A solid state relay (SSR) is just what it sounds like; an IC that acts like a mechanical relay. They allow you to control high-voltage AC loads from lower voltage DC control circuitry. Solid state relays,  have several advantages over mechanical relays. One such advantage is that they can be switched by a much lower voltage and at a much lower current than most mechanical relays. Also, because there's no moving contacts, solid state relays can be switched much faster and for much longer periods without wearing out.

They accomplish this by using infrared light as the 'contact,' a solid-state relay is really just an IR LED and a phototriac sealed up into a little box. Thanks to the fact that the two sides of the relay are photo-coupled, you can rely on the same type of electrical isolation as in mechanical relays. These particular solid state relays can switch 400VAC and 8A.

The Relay Twig is a digital normally open switch that controls a relay capable of switching much higher voltages and currents than your normal Arduino boards. When set to HIGH, the LED will light up and the relay will close allowing current to flow. The peak voltage capability is 250V at 10 amps.
