Community Hack: Zheremino

Finalista - Arduino Contest 2011: Insoladora Lunch Box
Finalist - Arduino Contest 2011: SMSalert
This project made with Arduino Uno has been developed for our volunteer fire department. As not everyone in the department has an official (but expensive) pager, alerting enough people is sometimes difficult. But luckily everyone has a mobile phone nowadays, so why not alerting all the people via SMS?
This hack has been submitted by Philipp Schweizer (Germany).

With this hack we create nodes for an ad hoc Wireless Sensor Network for urban traffic evaluation by means of a Arduino Mega, a GPS Module, and a XBee shield with XBee Pro 868.
Some of the applications are: traffic lights optimization, public services fleet management communications, environmental geo-monitoring, etc.
This hack has been submitted by Aris Katsikaridis & Dr. Fotis Liotopoulos (Greece).
Community Hack: GPS Car Alarm
With this project, the author wants to share with all of us his car alarm system.
It's very simple: a GPS module to get position data and a GPRS module that sends an SMS to a mobile with the position of the car.
This hack has been submitted by Daniel Lopera (Spain).
Community Hack: Security Access Control
This project shows how to configure Arduino and the RFID module to build an access control for security in our door.
The system reads the RFID card and checks if that card is allowed or not.
This hack has been submitted by Verena Berg (Germany).
Community Hack: Open Door Detector
With this detector we'll avoid to forget our door open. This system is also useful for warning us if “somebody” is opening our door. A hall effect sensor and a magnet will detect if the door is open. Arduino is reading the state of the sensor and if it is activated (door open), it will play a sound to warn us about the open door and will activate a lost call to my mobile, through a GPRS shield.
This hack has been submitted by Quique Fernandez (Spain).
Example Hack: Ultrasound Parking Sensor
Parking my car is quite more easy now with my Arduino parking sensor.
An ultrasound sensor with Arduino and XBee shield in the back part of the car for measuring the distance from the car to the obstacles. Inside the car another Arduino with XBee shield will get data from the other and displays the distance to the obstacle using an LEDs bar.
