can you recommend me the most appropriate type of sensor for my aplication? the sensors will be attached to sensor nodes and they will need to detect whether a fire caught the forest.

the sensor needs to detect the presence of any type of combustion smoke. it should detect the smoke no matter of type of material that is burning (wood, plastic, gasoline, alcohol, oil etc.).


the sensor node is actually a microcontroler development board, here are the specifications of the board, so we can be sure that the sensor will be compatible:

the sensor also needs to be little bit robust since it will be placed in outdoor environment, it will be put in protective housing but it will still have contact with hot/cold air but won't be directly exposed on sun, rain or show.please let me know which type of sensor do you think would be the best solution?
