    The 4-20 mA Current Loop Board is one of the most robust sensor signaling standard. Current loops are ideal for data transmission because of their inherent insensitivity to electrical noise. In a 4-20 mA current loop, all the signaling current flows through all components; the same current flows even if the wire terminations are less than perfect. All the components in the loop drop voltage due to the signaling current flowing through them. The signaling current is not affected by these voltage drops as long as the power supply voltage is greater than the sum of the voltage drops around the loop at the maximum signaling current of 20 mA.

    Transmitting sensor information via a current loop is particularly useful when the information has to be sent to a remote location over long distances (500 meters, or more). The loop operation is straightforward: a sensor output voltage is first converted to a proportional current, with 4 mA normally representing the sensor zero-level output, and 20 mA representing the sensor full-scale output. Then, a receiver at the remote end converts the 4-20 mA current back into a voltage which in turn can be further processed by a computer or display module.

    The 4-20 mA Current Loop Board is one of the most robust sensor signaling standard. Current loops are ideal for data transmission because of their inherent insensitivity to electrical noise. In a 4-20 mA current loop, all the signaling current flows through all components; the same current flows even if the wire terminations are less than perfect. All the components in the loop drop voltage due to the signaling current flowing through them. The signaling current is not affected by these voltage drops as long as the power supply voltage is greater than the sum of the voltage drops around the loop at the maximum signaling current of 20 mA.

    Transmitting sensor information via a current loop is particularly useful when the information has to be sent to a remote location over long distances (500 meters, or more). The loop operation is straightforward: a sensor output voltage is first converted to a proportional current, with 4 mA normally representing the sensor zero-level output, and 20 mA representing the sensor full-scale output. Then, a receiver at the remote end converts the 4-20 mA current back into a voltage which in turn can be further processed by a computer or display module.

    The US1881 is an integrated Hall effect latched sensor. That's nice but what does it do? Holding a magnet near the sensor will cause the output pin to toggle. This makes for a robust presence sensor. A reed sensor also works nicely, but can be limited by the glass encapsulation and size. A hall effect sensor is much smaller, but can handle less current than a reed switch.

    The device includes an on-chip Hall voltage generator for magnetic sensing, a comparator that amplifies the Hall voltage, and a Schmitt trigger to provide switching hysteresis for noise rejection, and open-collector output. An internal bandgap regulator is used to provide temperature compensated supply voltage for internal circuits and allows a wide operating supply range.
     
    If a magnetic flux density larger than threshold Bop, DO is turned on (low). The output state is held until a magnetic flux density reversal falls below Brp causing DO to be turned off (high).

    The 4-20 mA Current Loop Board is one of the most robust sensor signaling standard. Current loops are ideal for data transmission because of their inherent insensitivity to electrical noise. In a 4-20 mA current loop, all the signaling current flows through all components; the same current flows even if the wire terminations are less than perfect. All the components in the loop drop voltage due to the signaling current flowing through them. The signaling current is not affected by these voltage drops as long as the power supply voltage is greater than the sum of the voltage drops around the loop at the maximum signaling current of 20 mA.

    Transmitting sensor information via a current loop is particularly useful when the information has to be sent to a remote location over long distances (500 meters, or more). The loop operation is straightforward: a sensor output voltage is first converted to a proportional current, with 4 mA normally representing the sensor zero-level output, and 20 mA representing the sensor full-scale output. Then, a receiver at the remote end converts the 4-20 mA current back into a voltage which in turn can be further processed by a computer or display module.

    Description: This current sensor gives precise current measurement for both AC and DC signals. These are good sensors for metering and measuring overall power consumption of systems. The ACS712 current sensor measures up to 5A of DC or AC current. We added an opamp gain stage for more sensitive current measurements. By adjusting the gain (from 4.27 to 47) you can measure very small currents.

    The ACS712 Low Current Sensor Breakout outputs an analog voltage that varies linearly with sensed current. To calibrate, first set the output offset to the desired level (with zero current on the sense lines, read output with a DVM). Then with a known current input (a 100mA limited supply works well for this), set the output deflection with the gain pot. Sensitivity is then calculated as (Vref - Vdeflect)/(current input).

    The bandwidth on the ASC712 Low Current Sensor Breakout has been set to 34Hz to reduce noise when using at high gains. The full 80KHz bandwidth that the sensor is capable of can be recovered by removing C1. See schematic for more details.

    Description: This is a breakout board for Freescale's MPR121QR2. The MPR121 is a capacitive touch sensor controller driven by an I2C interface. The chip can control up to twelve individual electrodes, as well as a simulated thirteenth electrode. The MPR121 also features eight LED driving pins. When these pins are not configured as electrodes, they may be used to drive LEDs.

    There a four jumpers on the bottom of the board, all of which are set (closed) by default. An address jumper ties the ADD pin to ground, meaning the default I2C address of the chip will be 0x5A. If you need to change the address of the chip (by shorting ADD to a different pin), make sure you open the jumper first. Jumpers also connect SDA, SCL and the interrupt pin to 10k pull-up resistors. If you don't require the pull-up resistors you can open the jumpers by cutting the trace connecting them.

    There is no regulation on the board, so the voltage supplied should be between 2.5 and 3.6VDC. The VREG pin is connected through a 0.1uF capacitor to ground, which means, unless you modify the board, you can't operate the MPR121 in low-supply voltage mode (1.71-2.75VDC).

    Description:This is the T5403 breakout board, a fully calibrated barometric pressure sensor with an I2C interface. The T5403 sensor measures the absolute pressure of the air around. This pressure varies with both the weather and altitude. Depending on how you interpret the data, you can monitor changes in the weather, measure altitude, or any other tasks that require an accurate pressure reading.

    The T5403 sensor consists of a piezoresistive MEMS pressure sensor element and an ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) with integrated temperature sensor, analog to digital converter ADC, memory and digital circuitry. Each breakout requires a supply voltage of 1.7V to 3.6V with a low current consumption of 790A max and each pin (GND, VCC, SCL/SCLK, SDA/MOSI, MISO, RST/SS, SEL, and EOC) broken out.

    It is a tiny, with impressive performance single transducer sensor. The SRF01 Ultrasonic Range Finder uses Devantech's 2nd generation AutoTune technology that allows ranging from 6 meters (19.7') all the way down to zero on a single transducer sonar module.

    Connect up to 16 SRF01 modules to a single microcontroller line, using a simple (3.3~5V tolerant) TTL serial networking protocol of a "Break", 2-byte sensor address, and the command. The SRF01 at that address will respond appropriately (check the resources).

    Two different operating modes are available when using the SRF01. The standard mode is "Advanced Mode", allowing ranging all the way down to the transducer (0cm). This requires the SRF01 taking 5 readings out to a range of 30cm or more and setting an internal calibration bit. "Standard Mode" does not require this calibration routine, but decreases the effective range to 18cm to 6m (7" to 19.7')

    To make mounting a snap, a rubber grommet is supplied to mount the SRF01, which can secure the sensor in a panel no thicker than 1.7mm (0.067").
